Rev. Maxwell Grant: Senior Minister
Rev. Maxwell Grant has been the Senior Minister at Second Congregational church since 2012. Originally from Brooklyn, NY, he has also served as School Minister at Collegiate School in Manhattan, Chaplain for Pediatrics and Obstetrics at Yale New Haven Hospital, and Pastor of Community Church of the Pelhams, in Pelham, NY. He is a graduate of Yale University, University of Pennsylvania, Yale Divinity School, and the University of St Andrews (Scotland). He has been active in the work of the Conference and Association, and currently serves on the board of the Congregational Library and Archive (Boston, MA). Max and his wife, Liz, an independent school administrator, have two daughters and two Cardigan Welsh Corgis.
Jennifer Byxbee: Minister of Care & Connection
Jenny joined Second Congregational Church with the goal of reaching out to connect with each and every member of the 2CC community.
A 2021 a graduate of the Chicago Theological Seminary's Certificate Ministry Preparation program, Jenny will serve 2CC in a new role designed to help us rekindle our sense of community in a post-pandemic Greenwich and to lead children and families into active membership. A long-time presence here in town, Jenny serves in a leadership capacity with the Greenwich Sentinel Foundation, and most recently served with Greenwich Chaplaincy Services during the pandemic.
Prior to 2016, Jenny was the Executive Director of the New Canaan Teen Center and the Director of Children's Ministries at Round Hill Community Church. Jenny is most known to the community for her time with the Town of Greenwich as the Youth Services Bureau Administrator, where she was honored and recognized as a Community Health Hero by Greenwich Hospital, Youth Services Bureau Administrator of the Year with the state of CT and with the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce Michael Dunn Quality of Life Award.
Jenny and her husband Rich, an officer in the Stamford Police Department are the proud parents of two daughters, Katie and Libby.
