“How to Live a more Creative and Fulfilling Life”
On Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 7:00 p.m., Second Congregational Church will host “How to Live a More Creative and Fulfilling Life,” featuring Gene Jones, author of Younger and Wiser: A Collection of Backstory Poetry and Inspirational Prose.
Jones has led an eclectic career in the world of entertainment spanning four decades, with extensive work in radio, game shows, and other media. He has written across a wide range of genres, including radio commercials, murder mysteries, and poetry. Jones has also worked as a professional speechwriter for over 25 years.
In his presentation at Second Church, Jones will reflect on the role of creativity in creating a fulfilling life, drawing on work from Younger and Wiser, his most recent book.
“The book is fascinating,” says Rev. Maxwell Grant, the Senior Minister of Second Church. “Jones writes well, and many people will be delighted and inspired by his observations. But he also adds the further element of remembering when and where his pieces began, which makes them even deeper, and Jones’ voice even more personal.”
The book blends the immediacy and power of poetry and creative prose with the conversational tone of contemplative storytelling.
A wine and cheese reception will begin at 7:00, followed by readings, reflection and discussion.
