Christopher Tate, appointed associate minister in 2005, is experienced and skilled in teaching and religious counseling and has a penchant for working with young people.

His responsibilities involve ministering to the entire congregation while focusing on enriching the spiritual lives of middle school and high school students. He also is interested in helping young adults develop life goals and find their way personally and professionally.


Chris has served in various educational and religious capacities in the area. He has taught

fifth grade at Brunswick School in Greenwich, been a chaplain intern at Norwalk Hospital, served as youth activities director of First Presbyterian Church in New Canaan, and directed drama and music at the Waveny Day Camp in New Canaan.

A 2005 graduate of Yale Divinity School, Chris holds a Master of Divinity degree. He received a bachelor’s degree in drama with honors from Stanford University, where his minor was in psychology.

Chris has spent most of his life in Fairfield County. He grew up in New Canaan and lives with his wife, Lauren, in Norwalk.

In his spare time, Chris enjoys rock climbing, hiking, recreational tennis, lawn games, and collecting and playing drums and other indigenous instruments from around the world.
